Online Gaming

Posted on March 31, 2014 at 9:31 am

Online gaming is a very large phenomena, with a great variety of games, in terms of its quality, expense, and its ease of access. Some online games, like World of Warcraft, requires you to buy the game disk, which you then install on your computer. There are a number of online games like this, with some of them you have to pay a monthly subscription on top of that, like with world of warcraft, and with others you just have a one time payment, like with Guild Wars. This represents a big part of the MMORPG part of online gaming, but there are more types as well. You can play an MMORPG, or massive multiplayer online role playing game, which doesn’t have any games disk, and you just install it over the internet, or without any installation at all. Some of these require you to have a monthly subscription, while others get their revenue through other methods, like advertisement.

Is Now the Right Time to Buy a New Console?

Posted on March 28, 2014 at 5:18 pm

An important question gamers should be asking right nor is whether or not now is the best time to buy an Xbox 1 or PS4. The answer; probably not, and for a number of reasons. Firstly, there aren’t that many games which have been designed with the increase in computing power offered by the new consoles in mind. Most of the games have had a quick bit of work done, changing a previous generation game into one which can be played on the new console. A great number of the games now available for the new games consoles are in this category; with less than ideal graphics and game play. The second reason, and perhaps the most relevant, is that the new games consoles are still very highly priced. Over the coming couple of years the price will surely drop to something a bit more manageable and reasonable for the average gamers budget. Waiting just a few months may well save you a lot of money, and still give you enough time to enjoy it before the next generation of consoles comes out, and we go through the whole process.

Playing Games on a PC

Posted on March 25, 2014 at 10:37 am

A lot of gamers out there will espouse the greatness of using a gamer’s PC. Gaming PC’s, unlike a normal PC, will have a lot of very powerful hardware, all with the aim of improving its performance in relation to games. It will also have a lot of software, to improve its compatibility with the various types of games platforms, whether that is PS4, PS3, Xbox 360, Xbox1, or Nintendo Wii. The end result of all of this hardware and software, is that you have a computer which is far more capable than any games console available, with more powerful graphics, and faster gameplay. Clearly though, using your PC as a games computer has its drawbacks. Using one doesn’t suddenly avail you to the online gaming part of the consoles, so multiplayer online gaming is a bit of a misnomer.
